Farmers earn Rs 300 million from orange sale

Amarraj Naharki / Tanahu, Jan 15: Farmers of Tanahu have earned Rs 300 million selling oranges this season.

Information officer of the Agriculture Knowledge Center, Tanahu, Kiran Pariyar said that orange sale increased by Rs 40 million this year in comparison to the previous year.

Pariyar said that in the previous year farmers earned Rs 260 million. In this year they earned Rs 300 million.

The centre informed that oranges were supplied to Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, Biratnagar.

Pariyar shared that in the fiscal year (FY) 2079-80, 9800 metric ton of orange was harvested in 1678 hectares of land.

In the fiscal year 2078-79, 9510 metric ton of orange was recorded. There is possibility to grow orange on 8570 hectare of land.
