NEA Board decides to reconnect electricity supply to defaulting industries
Kathmandu / Nov 12: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has decided to reconnect electricity supply lines to the defaulting industries following instruction from the Council of Ministers.
A board meeting of NEA on Tuesday took a decision to this effect.
Previously, the NEA had been maintaining its stance on not resuming electricity supplies to the industries which have been declining to settle the dues of dedicated feeders and trunk lines. However, the power utility turned flexible after the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation (MoEWRI) sent a letter to the NEA to implement the directive of the government which asked the authority to resume the electricity supply within 24 hours.
Suresh Acharya, secretary at the MoEWRI, informed that the board meeting of the NEA on Tuesday decided to reconnect the electricity lines to the industries.
