Department of Mines scraps license of 39 mining industries

government logoKathmandu / Aug. 08: Department of Mines and Geology has scrapped the license of 39 mining industries in the fiscal year 2016/17, under Mineral Exploration and Development Project.

The Department scrapped the license of mining industries for not carrying out activities in this regard even after acquiring the license.

Spokesperson of the Department, Krishna Dev Jha said that license was distributed to 367 mining industries across the nation during the period.

The Department renewed the license of 207 mineral exploration industries and 76 mineral extraction industries as well as provided license to seven mining industries.

Similarly, the Department also carried out environmental supervision of 80 mining industries.

Jha said that problems have been surfaced to carry out works in lack of Uranium Act and related law.RSS
