President performs pooja at Krishna mandir, Pashupati and Nawatan Dham

President VisitLalitpur / Aug. 14: President Bidya Devi Bhandari worshipped and performed pooja at the Krishna temple in Patan Durbar Square today on the occasion of Shree Krishnajanmastami.

On the occasion, President Bhandari received tika and prasad from the temple priest Pratapdhar Sharma. The President also inspected the historical stone water spout next to the temple. The temple made up of stones only is believed to have been built in the 17th century during the reign of then King Siddhinarasingh Malla.

Earlier upon arrival at the temple premises, President Bhandari was welcomed by Mayor of Lalitpur municipal corporation Chiribabu Maharjan, deputy Mayor Gita Satyal, MPs Siddhi Lal Singh, Chandra Maharjan, Udaya Shumsher Rana and Sushila Nepal, and CDO Raj Kumar Shrestha.

Also today, the last Monday of the holy month of Shrawan in the lunar calendar, President Bhandari paid obeisance to Lord Shiva at the Pashupatinath temple.

She also observed the Nawatan Dham in Kageswari Manohara municipality today, and performed pooja and aarati there. RSS
