Biratnagar Airport likely to resume air services by Saturday

Biratnagar-airport-cleaningBiratnagar / Aug. 17: Nepal Army personnel have been mobilised to clear the runway of Biratnagar Airport as it is completely covered by mud and sand due to inundation caused by incessant rainfall.

The Biratnagar Airport has shut down its all air services since the runway was submerged.

As many as 200 NA personnel have been mobilised to clear the runway with the help of various equipment. It has been expected to bring the airport back into operation by Saturday.

According to the Chief of the Civil Aviation Authority, Biratnagar, Suresh Man Shrestha, the air services will have resumed by August 19 if the monsoon favours them. RSS
