EC proposes dates for Prez, Veep elections

Election CommissionKathmandu / Feb 15: The Election Commission of Nepal has proposed dates for the election of the new President and Vice-President of Nepal.

The EC has begun talks with five major parties representing in the Federal Parliament in this regard on Thursday. At the meeting, the EC proposed March 5 and March 17 as the dates for election of the President and Vice-President respectively.

These dates will be finalised after further discussion among the EC and the five parties.

EC asks NA poll candidates to submit election expense details

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has asked National Assembly election candidates to submit the details of poll expenditures soon.

As per the legal provision, NA election candidates can spend up to Rs 350,000 during the polls, and are required to furnish poll expenditure details to the EC or the office dictated by EC, within 30 days of the announcement of poll results.

The EC has identified the election office where the candidates can submit the expenditure details.The NA polls were held on February 7 and the results were announced on February 11. RSS
