PM Oli highlights achievements of his tenure; says 32% increase in revenue

Kathmandu / Jan 6 : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli addressed the winter session of the parliament on Sunday, underlining the achievements made by his administration during its 10-month tenure.

Oli said the criticisms against the president by opposition parties were attack to the republic system. He said every decisions regarding the president’s office in Sheetal Niwas is taken by the government and not by the president. “President cannot ask for or oppose any decisions. How can the attack on an institution which doesn’t speak be justified,” he questioned.

The government has come under fire for its decision to expand the president’s office premises by acquiring the Nepal Police Academy, procure a motorcade for president at steep price, and relocate vice president’s office.

PM also said he was frequently asked about railways and waterways in social media and urged for patience before one can finally buy tickets for it.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the economic indicators of the country in the past five months of the current fiscal year were positive.

PM Oli shared the information that the revenue collection was upped by 32 percent in these five months, while the capital expenditure grew by 25.3 percent. Similarly, the government expenditure was down by 20 percent as compared to the same period of the last year.

Moreover, the PM informed the lawmakers that the inflation stood at 3.7 percent. The government received the foreign assistance of Rs 162 billion, while the investment in the industry was increased by 25 percent. The trade loss was reduced by 1.5 percent.

On the occasion, PM Oli urged the opposition to be creative and effective for the solidarity on economic development. RSS
