Govt committed to creating media-friendly atmosphere: Minister Gyawali

Kathmandu / Sept 7: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, has said that government is all committed to creating media-friendly atmosphere.

At a time when various questions have been raised on the Media Council Bill, Foreign Minister Gyawali reiterated that government is committed to maintaining credibility, transparency and professionalism in the media sector.

Inaugurating the Nepal Chapter of World Communicators’ Council and South Asia Media Conference here today, the Foreign Minister viewed that media, being the representative of people’s voice, should have the contents that strengthen national welfare, social justice and equality.

He stressed on a collective discussion on various issues of media to reach a common conclusion. The Minister, however, said the growing divided debate on media issues was challenging.

According to him, cooperation and collaboration from the people of all walks of life is a must for making the Visit Nepal Year 2020 successful. RSS
