Kathmandu / September 28: In a bid to bring the situation of tarai into normalcy, the third largest party of the parliament, Unified CPN (Maoist) has stressed the need for three parties to jointly organize grand mass gathering in politically important areas of the country in the event of the promulgation of the constitution.

The party’s central committee meeting of the party drew a conclusion that the mass gathering along with people’s mobilization should be put in place in different terai-Madhes districts and also decided to urge Nepali Congress and CPN-UML for the same.

Though the constitution has enshrined many vital rights of indigenous nationalities, Madhesi and Tharu communities, some genuine demands are yet to be addressed, the party stated. The joint mass mobilization and gathering is important to explore solution of genuine issues, said UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma.

Likewise, the party has decided to wage struggle with mass mobilization under the leadership of people-based organizations in the context when the southern neighbour India has imposed trade embargo in the setting of post constitution making.

The meeting has urged senior leader Dr Baburam Bhatatrai to review his decision to quit the party and come back to the party. Stating that the party did not address the issues of minority group, senior leader of the party, party vice-chairperson Dr. Bhattarai left the party. However his move is taken as the effort to form a separate party for the sake of portfolio. Dr. Bhattarai had been acting as an opposition while promulgating the new constitution.

According to spokesperson Sharma, the party has formed a committee headed by Vice-Chairperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha to hold dialogue with the disgruntled parties. The tarai based parties have been acting at the tune of India and creating trouble in tarai region citing differences in the constitution, which is widely criticized by majority of people.
