RPP-Nepal leader Gurung dies; RPP-Nepal to observe mourning for seven days

Chandra GurungKathmandu / October 4: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), Nepal has decided to observe mourning for seven days in the demise of party’s General Secretary Chandra Bahadur Gurung.

Born in Sirubari of Syangja district in 2012 BS, the RPP-Nepal leader Gurung passed away in Colorado of the USA on Saturday night. He was suffering from cancer.

An emergency meeting of the party’s Central Work Execution Committee held at the party’s central office in Dhumbarahi this morning has also decided not to organise any formal programme for 13 days to mourn the demise of General Secretary Gurung.

The party has decided to fly the party flag at half-mast for three days, party’s Joint General Secretary Rajaram Shrestha told reporters.

The meeting has formed a committee under the leadership of party vice-chairman Rajib Parajuli for the management for bringing Gurung’s body back to home from the USA and conduct the last rites.

It is said that some three/four days is expected to take to bring Gurung’s body back to Nepal after completing legal processes, Shrestha added. RSS
