International Nepali Literature Meet begins

Nepali DiasporaKathmandu / October 8: The International Nepali Literature Conference organised under the joint aegis of Nepal Academy and the Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) began here today.

Poet of the Nation Madhav Prasad Ghimire and NRNA chairman Shesh Ghale inaugurated the conference amidst a ceremony at the Nepal Academy.

Addressing the function, the Poet of the Nation Ghimire said NRN has an important role to play in promotion of the Nepali language, culture and literature at the international level.

NRNA president Ghale said the NRNA was always ready for the promotion and preservation of Nepali language and culture.

Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Uprety said the NRNA has made a significant contribution to the national development campaign.

On the occasion, senior poet Ghimire launched an anthology of poetry entitled ‘Diasporaka Kabita’ containing the poems penned by 99 Nepali poets living abroad. RSS
