Nepali movies make good income during Dashain
Kathmandu / October 24: Nepali people recently celebrated Dashain festival, one of the major festivals of Hindus, and the festival also brought good reward to Nepali film industry.
Three films, Pardeshi, Adhakatti and Sushree were released during the festival and it is said that most of the films made good income during the festival period. Although the full report of their income is yet to be calculated, most of the cinema halls were full during the festival period.
It is said that Pardeshi is taking lead in the business but producers of all three films claimed that their film is in the top. Of late Nepali people have started going to see Nepali films. The business of film went down few years back but with the nice cinema halls people have started to go to film to watch Nepali film. The direction of Nepali movie changed and they are current trying to make realistic films.
In Dashai, most people love to go to watch films along with their family members, so, there is competition among film makers to release their films during the festival period. Indian and English films are dominating the film market of the country as viewers feel that Nepali film are not very sound in terms of use of technology and story-telling. So, critics suggest Nepali filmmakers not to make film on the basis of whim and concentrate on quality movie.
