Nepali player clinches top title in World Karate Championship

Kathmandu / October 28: Nepali karate player Mukti Sangram Bista has clinched first position in the ‘Battle of Baltimore World Karate Championship-2015’ held at Baltimore of the United States.

He defeated 15 athletes of different countries to reach to the top position in the championship held between October 16 to 17. At a press conference here Wednesday, Bista termed the feat as an important achievement of his sports life.

Bista who was born in Chitwan had stepped into Karate some 26 years back. Earlier, he had achieved third position in the World Kick Boxing Championship-2002 in Italy and the International Karate Championship-2003 held in US.

Besides, he had grabbed second position in the Maryland USA Open Karate Championship-2003 and first position in the Mercer International Karate Championship-2009 held in the US. RSS
