Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli expands cabinet; six DPMs in Oli cabinet

New Minister swearing inKathmandu / November 05 : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday expanded his cabinet by inducting highest numbers of deputy prime ministers in the history of the country. With the expansion, the Oli-led government has six deputy PMs.

The new deputy prime ministers include CPN UML’s Bhim Rawal, Deputy PM and Urban Development minister, CPN ML’s CP Mainali, Deputy PM and Women, Children and Social Welfare minister, and Rastriya Janamorcha’s Chitra Bahadur KC, Deputy PM and Poverty Alleviation minister.

Similarly, Bishnu Paudel has been appointed as Finance Minister, Sher Dhan Rai as Communication Minister, Ananda Pokharel as Tourism Minister and Shanta Manawi as Labor Minister. Likewise, Minister Satya Narayan Mandal has been assigned to look after the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the portfolio of Ministry of Health and Population has been allocated to Minister Ramjanam Chaudhary and Bishwendra Paswan has got the portfolio of the Ministry of Science and Environment.

A meeting of the top leaders of the party on Wednesday had decided to give full shape to the Council of Ministers after holding consultations with other parties in the ruling coalition. However, the coalition partner Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal has not yet finalised the name of remaining ministers in the new government. The CPN (United) is likely to get one minister in the new government.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari administered oath of office and secrecy to three newly appointed Deputy Prime Ministers and other ministers in the Council of Ministers led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Oli, Acting Chief Justice Girish Chandra Lal, Deputy Prime Ministers, sitting ministers, chiefs of constitutional bodies, various political and lawmakers were present on the occasion. RSS
