NRNA provides drugs to government

NepalHopeslinkKathmandu / November 24: As committed earlier, Non-Resident Nepali Association on Tuesday provided a shipment of general and live-saving medicines to the Government of Nepal.

Shesh Ghale, NRNA president, handed over the medicines to Minister for Health and Population Ram Janam Chaudhari amid a function organised in the capital.

The medicines provided to the government are worth Rs 3.8 million. Though NRNA had decided to provide medicines worth Rs 30 million in the first phase, it could not hand over the stated quantity of drugs to the government due to transport obstructions.

More drugs will be handed over to the government after they arrive in Kathmandu from India, China and Bangladesh, it said.

NRNA has been playing important role to publicize the blockade imposed by India at the international level. Different chapters of NRNA have been organizing rallies in different countries to draw the attention of world bodies and different countries about the problems faced by Nepal due to blockade.
