Solo play ‘Laxmikant’ going to Japan

LaxmikantKathmandu / November 27 : Lok Drishti Theater is taking its play ‘Laxmikant’ to Japan at the invitation of ASSITEJ Japan- Japan Union of Theatrical Companies for Children and Young People, on November 29. The play will be staged at the annual Next Generation Program Asia 2015 in Tokyo.

At the program, young theater directors from 21 different countries such as India, Japan, and China will also take part in a drama workshop from November 30 to December 4. On December 5, the participants will showcase a play from the workshop.

The play ‘Laxmikant’ is a one-man show enacted by Prem Paudel who also wrote and directed the play. The main theme of ‘Laxmikant’ is unity and harmony which Paudel tells through flashback. The audience is taken down his memory lane as he flips through his diary where he has written down important events from his life.

The Next Generation Program is a platform for aspiring theater artists to share their knowledge and learn from one another during the program. Participants will also be able to learn about different cultural backgrounds while showcasing their own.
