Blood crisis in sub-regional hospital

blood donationDadeldhura / April 22: Blood crisis has surfaced here with the operation of major surgical services in the Dadeldhura Sub-Regional Hospital.

Blood shortage has grown as a big problem when the hospital began complicated surgical services at the onset of the Nepali New Year 2073, said Chairperson of Hospital Development Committee Laxman Singh.

The Sub-Regional Hospital said that the Blood Bank of Nepal Red Cross which is the only blood collection centre being operated in Dadeldhura should operate its service in an efficient manner.

The blood crisis has emerged due to increasing flow of patients with complicated health problems to the hospital after reforms in its internal operation and physical management.

MDGP Dr Jitendra Kandel, who attended the hospital some days back, has said that no patients of the district need to go outside hospital for surgical operation with the launching of new services in the sub-regional hospital.

Some 19 specialist doctors now are providing regular services to the patients on the initiative of sub-regional hospital development committee, Singh shared. RSS
