900 thousand people benefitted from additional medical allowance

medicinesKathmandu / May 26: Nine hundred thousand people across the country benefitted from additional medical allowance being provided by the government under the social security allowance since the current fiscal year.

The government is providing Rs 500 monthly as treatment allowance to senior citizens, widows and single women (completing 60 years of age).

According to the economic survey 2015/16 presented by Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel at the Legislature-Parliament Thursday, senior citizens above 70, widows and single women (completing 60 years of age), indigenous and nationalities facing identity crisis and fully disabled are entitled to the social security allowance. They are receiving Rs 1,000 including Rs 500 for medical treatment from the government.

Likewise, partially disabled are getting Rs 300 monthly allowance. RSS
