Prof Dr Tulasiram Baidya and John Wood honoured

Kathmandu / July 9: Prof Dr Tulasiram Baidya and Founder of Room to Read John Wood have been feted with Dr Dilliram Regmi National and International Award respectively.

In a programme organized by Dr Regmi Foundation here on Saturday, Minister for Education Girirajmani Pokharel awarded Dr Baidya and Wood.

The national award carries a purse of Rs 100,000 and the international award carries only letter of honour. The letter of honour was received by Wood’s representative Dinesh Shrestha.

Dr Baidya was awarded for his contribution in exploration and investigation into history of Nepal and Wood for promoting education in Nepal by setting up libraries in various nooks and crannies of the country.

On the occasion, historian and litterateur Satya Mohan Joshi dwelt on the personality of Dr Regmi.

The programme also saw the felicitation of Ramesh Ghimire, Hari Poudel and Suresh Rawal- the winners of the essay competition organized by the Foundation. RSS
