The KMC is gearing up to kick off the digital service beginning July 16. KMC Spokesperson, Gyanendra Karki, said the Metropolis is set to start the digital service to streamline the service to the city dwellers by making it transparent and qualitative.

KMC’s service is being broadened through digital service so as to be based on technology sans paper work, and to expand the service to every household, added Karki.

The service expansion to be undertaken with an investment from Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development along with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will
cost an estimated Rs 40 million. The KMC plans to launch the service from all of its outlets and has already readied 190 computer sets to that end.

The people will be able to connect with the KMC by sitting in their homes through the internet once the service starts. The service-recipients will be enabled to have their house maps verified; make tax payments as well as get information on tax titles, KMC’s policies and activities and file complaint.

The service will be expanded to budget estimate and planning system, financial system, revenue management, exchange of information between employees, man power management and citizen interface. The KMC will also digitize the data of the citizens in all 35 wards. RSS
