926 war-era complaints registered in Gorkha

Gorkha / July 28: Altogether 926 war-era complaints have been so far registered in Gorkha – one of the worst-affected district from a decade-long armed conflict.

Complaints have been registered at the Local Peace Committee Office demanding investigation into the truths behind different war-time incidents carried out by the State side and then rebels.

Among the complaints registered are 895 towards Truth and Reconciliation. Likewise, 31 complaints have been registered demanding fair investigation into the enforced disappearance of their family members and relatives by then CPN-Maoist, said Secreatry at Local Peace Committee Rul Bahadur Ale.

The deadline for the filing of complaints at the transitional justice mechanisms – Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and Commission for Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons (CIEDP) – is August 10. RSS
