‘Prakash Human Rights Award, 2072’ to Safi

INSECKathmandu / July 28: The Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) Nepal has decided to honour human rights activist Maulana Abdul Jabbar Safi with the ‘Prakash Human Rights Award, 2072’.

A permanent resident of Nepalgunj, Safi has been recognised for his contribution to maintaining social harmony and working for the rights and social justice of people since the past four decades, INSEC authorities said.

Established in 2051 in memory of the late founder General Secretary of the INSEC Prakash Kafle, the award carries a purse of Rs 50,000.

The total 21 human rights activists have received the award so far. RSS
