Kavre Peace Committee receives 513 conflict-era cases

Banepa / July 30: A total of 513 conflict-era cases have so far been filed at Truth and Reconciliation Commission and Commission for Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons in Kavrepalanchowk.

Coordinator of the Local Peace Committee, Dhulikhel, Tulku Lama, said that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission received 44 complaints while the Commission for Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons got 469 complaints.

He said, “The number of complaints might be increased as we have extended the deadline to file the complaints.”

Lama said the deadline to file complaints at the Truth and Reconciliation Commission has been extended till August 18 while the deadline of Commission for Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons till August 10.

Some 300 people had received relief and compensation in the district during 10-year armed, it is learnt. RSS
