Programme organised to promote tourism

Pokhara / Aug. 07: Tourism Entrepreneurs and experts today held a discussion on introducing Pokhara in the world market as a tourist destination.

Pokhara Tourism Council organised a programme inviting a professor Brijesh Thapa of University of Florida to hold discussion on how Pokhara could be recognised at the international level.

Speaking at the programme, Thapa said that branding and commercialisation played a significant role in promoting the tourism industry in this competitive age. “We have to move ahead as per the demands of he global market and the interest of tourists,” he suggested.

Thapa said that the tourism industry has to be rectified.

Meanwhile, Chairman Som Bahadur Thapa of the council said that it is very difficult to introduce Pokhara in the world market due to lack of a brand, though it is naturally and culturally beautiful.

Chairpersons and representatives of different organisations in Pokhara were present at the programme.
