PM directs to stop doctors with fake certificates from medical practice

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal assumes officeKathmandu / Aug 14: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal today directed the concerned authorities to stop medical doctors, who are under investigation on the charge of holding fake academic certificate, from carrying out medical practice.

PM Dahal today telephoned Health Secretary Senendra Raj Upreti and issue a directive in this regard, said PM Dahal’s deputy personnel assistant Manohari Timilsina.

Timilsina shared that the PM directed the Medical Council to begin the process of suspending the certificates of such doctors and not allow them to examining patients until court makes a decision in this regard.

Prime Minister’s personnel secretariat has further stated that the Prime Minister was concerned about the matter as the health sector is sensitive one.

On the other hand, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Health Dr Deependra Raman Singh stated that no such doctors have been deputed to work but if any such cases were found they would be brought under the investigation soon.

As many as 36 doctors were arrested on the charge of holding fake academic certificates by the Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police. RSS
