Cost-free eye treatment benefits thousands

Dang / Aug 22: As many as 296,220 underwent cost-free eye check up under the year-long Community Eye Service Programme here.
The Rapti Eye Hospital at Rashyachaur organized the cost free camp in Dang, Rolpa, Salyan, Rukum and Pyuthan over a period of a year, Rapti Eye Hospital’s External Programme Coordinator, Shalikram Gautam said.
Under the year-long programme, 31,048 persons underwent cost-free surgery of their eye cataract. The hospital also provided lessons to 95,996 students in eye health education.
The hospital has been running various programmes to eliminate blindness – which can be cured – by 2020. RSS
