Bio-diversity key to mitigate climate change effects

Climate ChangeKathmandu / Aug 30: Minister for Population and Environment Jayadev Joshi has highlighted the importance of bio-diversity for reducing the negative effects of climate change.

At an interaction on bio-diversity, forest and environment organized by Rastriya Shahid Smarak Gokarna on Monday, Minister Joshi cautioned the people of dire consequences of climate change if attention was not paid on the conservation of forest and environment.

“Climate change can invite negative impact on several aspects of human life if attention is not given to conservation of bio-diversity, forest and environment. If we do not take lessons from this, the human existence could be at stake”, the Minister added.

Former Minister Ganesh Sah stressed the need to ensure proper management of parks, technology, water, tourism and library for the country’s prosperity.

Smarak Chairperson Sudarshan Sigdel said the campaign was initiated considering the bio-diversity as the source of all things. RSS
