Priority to economic infrastructure development: NPC Vice Chairman Shrestha

npc-vice-chairMyagdi / Oct 2: Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission (NPC) Dr Min Bahadur Shrestha said priority would be given to economic infrastructure construction for economic development and prosperity of the country.

At a programme organised by Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) to honour Dr Shrestha for being appointed as Vice-Chairman of the Commission, Shrestha stressed the need for carrying out infrastructure development for the development of sectors like roads, energy, tourism, agriculture and communications.

“Road and air transportations are a means of the basic foundation of energy. Other sectors cannot be developed and expanded unless this transportation means are developed. The Commission has prioritised infrastructure development,” he said.

Shrestha identified political stability, efficiencies of political parties, administrative coordination and help from the community as major ingredients towards that end.

Chairman of the MCCI Jiban Bahadur Bishwokarma drew the attention of the government to the need of road expansion in Myagdi, build infrastructures for the construction of hydropower projects and establish an industrial corridor and protect the human settlements along the embankment area. RSS
