PM hopes to find consensus on constitution amendment before Chhath festival
Kathmandu / Oct 19: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government is working on forging consensus for amending the constitution to address the demands of Madheshi parties.
Addressing a Legislature-Parliament meet on Wednesday, the PM expressed his confidence that an agreement among the ruling, opposition and agitating political parties on amending the constitution will be forged before the Chhath festival.
He further said that his government will amend the constitution while give priority to holding local level election. He further said that all parties will be inducted in constitution amendment process and conduction of election.
Dahal further said that the government is taking initiative to forge consensus among the political parties on the restructuring of the local bodies.
Boasting about the achievements made so far by the government under his premiership, he also informed that the elections-related bills have already been registered in the Parliament.
Dahal also did not forget to mention about the formation of the Joint Monitoring Team to contain black marketeering in all the 75 districts and the issuance of a 28-point directive for the smooth delivery of government services to the general people.
