Novel for a noble cause

novelDurga Lal KC, Dang / Dec 03: Author Sabin Priyasan’s recently-released novel, Punaragaman, is currently making its rounds in various schools in Ghorahi, Dang, with the aim of raising funds for differently-abled children of the district. So far the book has been discussed in schools like Deep Sikha Higher Secondary Boarding School, Padmodaya Public Model Higher Secondary, and Deep Jyoti Secondary, among others.

“We aim to invest the amount collection from the sale of books during these events to improve the current condition of differently-abled children in the district,” said author Priyasan. “There are a lot of children who are not getting even the most basic facilities that they deserve. We need to work on it, and I have tried to do so through literature.”

Punaragaman tells the story of female journalists struggling to make a career out of the profession that they are passion about.

Speaking to the Post about Punaraagman, litterateur Naveen Abhilashi said, “In Punaraagaman, Priyasan has offered a set of characters who are struggling to make a living, despite being extremely talented in what they do.” He added, “The novel deals with how Nepali women are mired in a deeply-rooted patriarchal society and other societal constructs. The novel encourages readers to keep on fighting the good fight.”

Speaking at a recent reading at a nursing school, author Priyasan informed that he is overwhelmed by the reception that his latest offering has received. At the event, he also announced his two upcoming novels, Lucky Charm and Selfie. Source: The Kathmandu Post
