Up-gradation of Beni-Jomsom-Korala road to begin soon

RoadMyagdi / Dec 15: The upgradation o Beni-Jomsom-Korala road connecting the border with Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) of China with Myagdi district is set to start soon.

According to the Beni-Jomsom-Korala Project Chief, Narendra Subedi, the of 186 km road will be overhauled at the expense of around Rs six billion.

The upgradation of road is believed to further facilitate and expand trade and business between Nepal and neighboring China through Korala border point, said Project Chief Subedi.

Two different units will be set up to expand land access to tourist spots in Mustang and trading point at the Nepal-China border, shared Subedi, adding that the 76 k Beni-Jomson road stretch will be blacktopped while 110 km Jomsom-Korala road will be upgraded.

Furthermore, he informed that the upgradation of the road is expected to be finished within three years and to achieve this target, a tender will be issued within few days.

Four contractors will be awarded the multi-billion tender, informed Project Chief Subedi. RSS
