PM Dahal challenges for making constitution amendment bill failure; Withdrawal of constitution amendment motion is only way out-Oli

PrachandaPokhara / Dec 16: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has challenged the opposition parties including the CPN (UML) to make the constitution amendment bill a failure.

Addressing the cadres training of CPN (Maoist) province no 4 here Friday, he said that the government was ready to accept it if the amendment proposal is failed through voting.

However, PM Dahala urged the opposition parties to forge understanding by stopping House obstruction and street agitation.

Party leaders—Narayankaji Shrestha and Ram Bahadur Thapa imparted training to cadres and expressed the view that party organisation would be stronger with improved discipline. The training was chaired by Party Province no 4 In-charge Dev Gurung.

A total of 425 central members of Province No 4 participated in the training.

Meanwhile, CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has called on the government to withdraw the constitution amendment motion tabled at the parliament.

Former Prime Minister Oli said this at a programme organized to mark the golden jubilee of Mahendraratna Secondary School at Lopgachhi-3 in Jhapa on Friday.

The constitution amendment motion has resulted in political crisis, he said, reiterating that the parliamentary process would not resume until the amendment proposal is taken back.

Urging the government to enable political environment for political consensus and collaboration by withdrawing the proposal, he stressed the need to create election atmosphere as holding local election is the only constitutional way out.

On the occasion, School’s Founder Chairperson Nagendra Bahadur Basnet, Hari Bahadur Basnet and ex-students having substantial contributions to the development of the school were felicitated. RSS
