Minister Bhandari roots for development of tourism for economic prosperity

tourists-visiting-NepalKathmandu / Dec 16: Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Shankar Bhandari has spoken of the need to develop the tourism sector for attaining economic prosperity.

At a programme organized by the Media Point on its fifth anniversary, Minister Bhandari pointed out the need emulate the tourism infrastructures of the foreign countries to promote the country’s tourism sector.

On a different note, he pressed for ushering the country in the path of development by bringing into effect the new constitution.

Board member at the Nepal Tourism Board, Rajendra Sapkota, was of the opinion that the natural beauties of Nepal should be capitalized on to promote tourism sector.

Nepal Mountaineering Association President Ang Tshering Sherpa drew the attention of the government towards the promotion, development and expansion of tourism sector.

On the occasion, Madhujung Pandey, a senior reporter with the Rajdhani Daily was awarded with Rs 10,000 for his contribution to the development of the tourism sector through journalism.

The event saw also felicitation of the various tourism entrepreneurs including Surendra Bhattarai, Subashchandra Banepali and Gagan Kumar Shrestha. RSS
