13 metric tonnes of wastes taken out from Valley Rivers

Bagmati cleaning CampaignKathmandu / Dec 24: At least 13 metric tonnes of waste have been taken out from the major rivers including Bagmati in the Kathmandu valley today. The Bagmati cleanup campaign today reached 189th week. The wastes were taken out from the Guheshwari area.

The campaign was attended by a large number of volunteers from various organisations including High-Powered Bagmati Civilisation Integrated Development Committee, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force among others.

Lawmakers Ambika Basnet, Rameshwar Phunyal, Deepak Kuinkel also participated in today’s campaign.

Similarly, such campaign was organized at Rudramati River nearby Kalopul and Bishnumati River nearby Tarakeshwar Temple areas as well.

The Bagmati cleanup campaign began on May 18, 2013. RSS
