Constitution amendment proposal will be finalised from Parliament: PM Dahal

PrachandaDang / Dec 24: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Saturday said the constitution amendment proposal registered in Parliament would be finalised from Parliament itself.

Speaking at a press conference organised by Press Centre, Dang in Ghorahi, Dang, PM Dahal said, “The proposal will not be revoked. It should be put to a vote no matter whether it will be endorsed or not.”

Saying he could not manage time to meet with political leaders due to his busy schedules outside Kathmandu valley in the past few days, PM Dahal said he would hold discussions with opposition political parties from Sunday to let the obstructed Parliament affairs resume at the earliest.

There was no alternative for all political parties to coming together for effective enforcement of the constitution, he said, adding that all achievements made so far would be at risk of losing if the constitution implementation fails.

He also said most important tasks to be dealt successfully with at this point of time are constitution amendment, taking forward the impeachment charge against suspended chief of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority and declaring the date for all three levels of elections by taking forward the election-related bills.
