Enjoy free kidney test, says Health Minister

dialysisKathmandu / Dec 26: Health Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa has urged all to enjoy the benefit of free kidney function test now available at public health centres.

Speaking at a free kidney test programme organised for journalists by the Nepal Press Union in the capital on Monday, Minister Thapa said the dipstick kit for urine test has been dispatched to all districts, and appealed to all to make avail of it.

Kits sufficient for as much as 2 million people has already been sent to the health centres across the country, under the Supplies Management Division of the Health Ministry. Additional kits will be dispatched as per the need, the Division Director Bhim Singh Tinkari said.

At the Union hosted programme, 132 journalists underwent urine test using the dipstick kit. Of them, seven were found with some complications and hence recommended for further medical examination, according to the Union. RSS
