All health posts to be headed by docs in five years: Health Minister

Solukhumbu / Dec 30: Health Minister Gagan Thapa has said all the health posts in the country would be headed by an MBBS doctor in the coming five years.

Laying the foundation stone of a hospital to be constructed at Tapting VDC in the district on Friday, he said MBBS doctors would be assigned to the health posts being manned by the health workers now and health services made more accessible to the people living in rural and remote areas.

The Yaku Foundation is building the hospital to the memory of tourism entrepreneur Wanchhu Sherpa.

The Health Minister also announced that the government would construct health post blocks at all the health posts across the country within the coming five years.

Referring to the health insurance policy implemented by the government, he said the insurance policy will make health care accessible and affordable to the poor. RSS
