CAN Info-tech concludes; over 300,000 visit the fair

CANKathmandu / Jan 31: Number of people visiting the CAN Info-tech is the testimony to the fact that there has been increasing public attraction to the information technology of late.

As many as 310,098 persons visited the ‘Subisu CAN Info-tech-2017’ of the 23rd edition organized by Computer Association of Nepal. However the number of visitors this year is lesser than that of last year.

Last year the number of visitors was 363,000. This year some 400,000 people were expected to turn up the event.

The CAN has been organizing this event every year since 1995 with the objective of advancing, promoting and expanding information and communication technology.

The exhibition was visited by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Population and Environment Jayadev Joshi, Industry Minister Nabindra Raj Joshi, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and Nepali Congress leader Udaya Shumsher Rana, among other leaders, popular artists and national players.

Some 222 stalls of 158 different companies related to software and hardware of information communications had been established in the fair. RSS
