ACC Emerging Teams Cricket: Nepal defeated by Pakistan

CricketKathmandu / March 27: Nepal lost to Pakistan by 6 wickets in the match today under the ACC Emerging Teams Cricket tournament.

In the match held at the Sheikh Kamal stadium of Bangladesh, Nepal posted a total of 180 runs in the stipulated 50 overs at the loss of nine wickets, after being put into bat first. In reply, the U-23 team of Pakistan surpassed the Nepali total in 45.1 overs at the loss of four wickets.

For Nepal, Sunil Dhamala topscored with 43 runs followed by Sharad Veshwakar who scored 38 runs. Gulam Musadar took five wickets to stem the flow of runs from the Nepali batsmen.

Nepal will now face hosts Bangladesh on Tuesday. Nepal has been grouped together with Pakistan, Bangladesh and Hong Kong in Group A while Group B comprises India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Four associate nations—Nepal, Afghanistan, Malaysia and Hong Kong join the U-23 teams of Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the tournament organised by the Asian Cricket Council. RSS
