Students unions padlock PABSON and N-PABSON’s offices

PABSONKathmandu / Apr. 27:A group of student unions locked up the offices of the Private and Boarding Schools’ Organization Nepal (PABSON) and National Private and Boarding Schools Association Nepal (N-PABSAN) ‘s offices in protest of their cavalier attitude toward the private boarding schools fleecing exorbitant school fees from the parents.

Nepal Students Union, ANNFSU, ANNFSU-Revolutionary among others have been protesting against the fee hike in violation of the standard fees determined by the government since Tuesday.
Cadres and leaders of these unions barged into the office of PABSON at Dilli Bazar and N-PABSON’s in Kupandole and padlocked them.

The aim is to bring those school charging exorbitant fees from the students to book, according to ANNFSU’s President Nabina Lama. The agitating unions have demanded that the private schools revoke the existing fee structures, PABSON having offices across 73 districts and N-PABSON in 40 are responsible to regulate the private schools across the country.

PABSON Secretary-General Rajendra Baniya urged the government for its positive intervention for the resumption of the padlocked organizations.

Earlier on Wednesday, the unions had padlocked more than 100 private schools in the Kathmandu valley against the exorbitant fees. RSS
