Woman killed, elderly man injured in rhino attack in Chitwan

Rhino imageChitwan / Apr. 29: A woman lost her life and an elderly man was injured in separate incidents of rhino attack in Chitwan district on Saturday.

Sukmaya Kumal (55) of Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City-28 was collecting fodder in a nearby forest when she was fatally attacked by a rhinoceros.

Critically injured in the attack, she was taken to the Bharatpur Hospital where she died while undergoing treatment, police said.

Likewise, Bhim Bahadur Pakhrin (65) of Dadhuwa in Kalika Municipality had gone to a nearby forest at Ratnanagar Municipality-11 to collect niguro — edible fern — when rhino attacked and injured him.

Pakhrin has been undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur. RSS
