‘Stakeholders too should be responsible for election security’

Election CommissionDhangadhi / Dec 2: Election Commissioner Ishwari Prasad Poudel has said that the stakeholders concerned should also extend maximum cooperation for the election security.

Addressing a discussions programme on election security organised here on Saturday, he warned of stern action against the violators of the election code of conduct.

Security officials, representatives of the political parties and the election officers in the district participated in the discussion programme.

On the occasion, Chief District Officer Govinda Prasad Rijal briefed about the security arrangements made for the election.

Commissioner Poudel acquired information on progress on preparations underway for the election, the challenges seen and the ways of resolving these and security management, among other issues.

Assignment of employees for the second round of House of Representatives and State Assembly elections has been completed in Kailali district.

Chief of the District Election Office, Mohan Prasad Aryal said that all employees deputed on election duty will have reached all the polling stations in the district with the necessary logistics by December 4.

Kailali district has five electoral constituencies and 231 polling stations. RSS
