Forgery case filed against Federal Parliament member-elect Silwal

Nawaraj Silwal, DIGKathmandu / Dec 20: A document forgery case has been filed against Nawaraj Silwal, former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Nepal Police and newly elected parliament member of CPN-UML, at Kathmandu District court on Wednesday.

Earlier, the Supreme Court in light of the differences between performance evaluation reports submitted by the Public Service Commission and Silwal, had ordered a full investigation vis-à-vis a case related to appointment of Chief of Nepal Police.

“As of now, the police is investigating into the matter and Silwal has not been taken into judicial remand,” a high level police source said, “Police will not take Silwal into custody until the investigation comes to an end.”

According to sources, Silwal, however, stands accused of manipulating his internal evaluation performance evaluation form while he was a DIG contending for the top post.
