UML, Maoist Centre summon joint PP meet for Saturday

UML party officeKathmandu / Mar 2: The CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre), who have already made a decision to merge, have summoned a joint Parliamentary Party meeting of the two parties at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor on Saturday.

A joint meeting has been summoned to impart training on making the parliamentary affairs uniform as the two parties are at the threshold of becoming one.

According to UML office Secretary Krishna Gopal Shrestha, the parties have decided to train member of parliaments in view of the federal parliament meeting slated from Monday.

He said that Prime Minister and UML Parliamentary Party leader KP Sharma Oli, CPN (Maoist Centre) Parliamentary Party leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and former Speaker Subash Nembang will provide training along with the directive to the lawmakers of the two parties.

Leader Shrestha said that the training will be given on the issue of parliamentary decorum as there are many new lawmakers from both the parties.

The two parties made a seven-point agreement of the party unification on February 19.

The two parties are working on a broader draft, political programmes and statute for the party unification.

The parties are preparing to announce the unification in the third week of March by completing all the related pending works in the second week of March.
