Pakistan PM arrives in Kathmandu for two-day visit; receives guard of honour
Kathmandu / Mar 5:Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has arrived here in Kathmandu for a two-day official visit on Monday. He is leading a 32-member delegation.
Minister for Finance Yuvaraj Khatiwada and Secretary at Finance Ministery Shankar Dai Bairagi welcomed PM Abbasi at the VVIP Lounge in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu.
During his Nepal visit, Abbasi will congratulate Nepal’s leadership on the successful conclusion of its democratic process, resulting in the formation of a new government.
It has been learnt that the sole purpose of PM Abbasi’s visit was to take forward the stalled Saarc process, with Pakistan seeking to host the deferred summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) at the earliest in consultation with Nepal, the current chair of the regional grouping.
PM Abbasi was offered a guard of honour at the Army Pavillion in Tundikhel at 5 pm today.
