PM directs govt employees to report for work at assigned places

PM OliKathmandu / Mar 18: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has insisted that the civil servants should report for work from the places where the government has assigned them to.

He said this while speaking at a programme after acknowledging the congratulations from the Civil Servants Organisation of Nepal at his official residence at Baluwatar on Saturday.

“The erstwhile government had decided to send home those employees not obliging the government’s orders by introducing a retirement scheme with special facilities. This government is not in favour of inducting new employees by sending the experienced employees on retirement. The employees should go and work in their respective assigned places,” the Prime Minister asserted on the occasion.

PM Oli said the government was also serious regarding promoting the professional dignity and job security of the government employees.

Stating that now there could not be any delays under any pretext in nation building, he insisted that the employees should go to the places they have been assigned to and serve the people in keeping with the terms of reference they were given while starting their jobs.

He was also unequivocal that the development process of the country would not pick up momentum under existing state of affairs.

The Prime Minister directed the government employees become development-oriented and committed to the people while discharging their duties and maintain good-governance and their service.

A delegation led by the Organisation president Kedar Devkota on the occasion also handed over to the Prime Minister an 11-point suggestion for reforming the civil service.
