Narayangadh-Muglin road widening costs to increase by 430 million

Narayangadh Mugling HighwayChitwan / Mar 24: The Narayangadh-Muglin road widening costs are to increase by at least Rs 430 million due to project time extension, awarding contract on backdate cost estimation, and additional inevitable work during the widening drive.

With a target of completing the road widening drive within two years, the contract amounting to Rs 2.89 billion was awarded to three contractors (construction companies) on mid-May 2015.

According to the resident engineer of Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project Consultancy Company, Pushkar Regmi, contract of the first section has increased to Rs 689.7 million from the originally contracted amount of Rs 606.1 million.

Likewise, the contract amount for second section has also expanded to Rs 1.10 billion from Rs 976.7 million. The third section too has seen an expansion in its cost to Rs 1.41 billion from Rs 1.30 billion. RSS
