Nepal festival to be organised in Portugal on ‘New Year 2075’

nrnPortugal / Mar 27: Nepal Festival is going to be organised in Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, on the occasion of the Nepali New Year, 2075 BS, which falls on April 14.

The Non-Resident Nepalis Association is organising the event for the first time in Portugal with an active participation of different social organisations there, in order to promote Nepali art and folk culture.

According to Chairman of NRNA Portugal, Kuber Karki, the event — being held at Martim Moniz Park, Lisbon — aims to promote Nepal’s tourism in Europe.

The approval has been taken from the government agencies in Portugal, who are eagerly looking forward to witnessing this very first Nepali event in their country. They have assured of all kinds of assistance needed for the successful operation of the event, added Karki.

Stalls showcasing Nepali products, handicrafts, food items, garments, along with stalls promoting Nepal’s major tourist attractions including Lumbini and Mt Everest would be the main highlights of the festival in addition to cultural performances by various national artists. RSS
