Nepal suffers defeat against Hong Kong in Asia Cup Qualifiers

Nepali cricket NedKathmandu / Sept 4: Nepal lost to Hong Kong by three wickets ending its hope of playing in the Asia Cup tournament.

In a low scoring match in Malaysia, Hong Kong chased the paltry 96 runs target in the 33rd over losing seven wickets.

Nepali bowlers had bowled well defending the low total but a half century by Anshuman Rath (52) dashed their hopes of a victory. Sandeep Lamichhane took five wickets for Nepal. Two other wickets were taken by Basanta Regmi and Sagar Pun.

Earlier winning the toss and batting first, Nepal posted a total of 95 runs after its batting wilted miserably in the must-win match.
