NewbornKanchanpur / Sept 6: ‘The Golden 1000 Days Public Awareness Campaign’ is bearing fruit in Bhimdatta Municipality in the district with the maternal and infant mortality rates lowering significantly, said health workers.

The campaign was launched by the government across the country in partnership with the European Union (EU) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for improved nutrition of women and children in the country.

The campaign also aims to reduce maternal and child mortality rates through improved health care and nutrition of adolescents, pregnant and lactating women and young children.

Inspired by the campaign, pregnant women in the municipality visit the health institution at the municipality for a regular checkup and a delivery, said the municipality’s health section Chief Dilram Bhatta.
